The Most Expensive Things in The World

The thing about being rich is you can afford to be eccentric, and no one will laugh at you. And also, the things about having lots of money to spend is that you can buy the most ridiculous thing at even more ridiculous prices - and show it off.

Here are the things that you might never be able to afford in this lifetime, and if you're able to afford, you might not see the value in the price tag. Let's see what they are:

The Hilltop Estate Owner’s Accommodation at the Laucala Island Resort in Fiji

Laucala is one of a triplet of small islands that lie to the east of Thurston Point on the island of Taveuni in Fiji. The privately owned islands are the site of the exclusive Laucala Resort.

Not only is this villa $40,000 a night, but you can’t just book the room. You have to apply for the privilege of giving them enough money to pay the equivalent of most four-year in-state college tuitions over the course of a day.

The entire island is owned by Red Bull’s billionaire owner and consists of 25 villas, but this is the best. It has panoramic views of the island, free massages, horse rides and many more.

Debauve & Gallais’s Le Livre

How Much: $550

To commemorate this French chocolatier’s 200th anniversaire in 2000, “Le Livre” (book, in French) debuted. Thirty-five chocolates (a mix of ganaches and pralines) are arranged in a gold-embossed leather box that resembles a handsome book, more like an encyclopedia. Fifteen years later, this beauty is still in the chocolatier’s portfolio, which also features truffles, bonbons, hot-chocolate chips, white-chocolate bars and “Pistoles De Marie Antoinettes” (gold coins).

DeLafĂ©e of Switzerland’s Gold Chocolate Box (8 chocolates)

How much: $330

Edible 24-karat gold flakes are wrapped into the chocolate, but that’s not the only gold in this goodie. It comes with a gold coin from the Swiss national bank that was minted between 1910 and 1920 and is valued at $133. Another reason for the steep price is craftsmanship. “We apply each gold leaf by hand,” the chocolatier says. Then it goes a step further by packaging it in a silk-draped wood box.

Air Jordan 12 Flu sign and worn by MJ ($ 104,765)

Preston Truman, a 35-year-old former Jazz ball boy, auctioned off the autographed pair of sneakers worn by Bulls guard Michael Jordan during his famous "Flu Game" for more than $104,000.

According to the auction site, which sold off a boatload of Kobe Bryant memorabilia earlier this year, Jordan signed both of the Size 13 shoes, and the lot includes Jordan's black game socks, too.

Nike Air Mag 2016 ($200,000)

It took Nike 27 years to finally make a real, auto-lacing Nike Mag like Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future Part II, but they were only able to create 100 pairs. The majority of them were given away in a raffle, with the rest being auctioned. The were more than a few folks who were willing to break the bank to get the sneaker of their dreams.
